Quattrocento

The brand uses a try-on feature via the the computer´s webcam, which makes it very easy for the customer to find the right style of glasses without actually having to physically try them on.

Further if the customer is not sure, he or she can order a few models made out of paper and then decide on the final, real pair. In contrast to the other two Start up companies, Quattrocento has had external investors from the very beginning to fund most of the expenses.

The young company is also part of Speed MI Up, an incubator for young businesses supported by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Bocconi University.

Our third guest Eugenio Pugliese graduated from Bocconi with a degree in Finance and decided to start his own business in January 2015 with his partner, an Israeli designer.

Quattrocento is a luxury eyewear brand handcrafted in Italy offered at the unique price of €115 with prescription lenses included. This price/quality combination is revolutionary and is realized by owning full control over the supply chain, which includes the design process, the production of the frames, the optical laboratory offering prescription lenses and the direct approach towards the customer.

Quattrocento sunglasses are displayed in La Rinascente in Milan, but are mainly distributed globally through e-commerce.
